Clothing Center
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12-2pm BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
Central's Clothing Center has been in operation for decades.
Interested in getting clothes?
Please call the church office to make an appointment at (607)754-6060.
Our Clothing Center is filled with donations which have been cleaned and sorted. We carry clothing items from newborns to adults in a wide variety of sizes and styles. Because the clothes are donations, it is hard to know what is "in stock" at any given time, but if you need something specific, please notify one of our volunteers and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs.
We invite all of our guests to come as they are. There is no dress code, no requirement to be a member of Central / any other church / a Christian, and no judgement. No matter who you are, what your spiritual life looks like, how old or young you are, whom you love, your gender identity, your ethnicity, your abilities, you are welcome here. At Central UMC, we follow Jesus, who refused to label or judge and challenged the structures and systems that do.
Central takes Jesus's charge to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the shivering, and visit the sick and imprisoned very seriously. Know that this meal is offered in service to God and as an act of love for you and our community.
Interested in volunteering?
The work and ministry of Central UMC wouldn't be possible without our dedicated volunteers. Currently, the Clothing Center is at capacity for volunteers.
If you wish to indicate your willingness to volunteer your time to clean and sort clothes or to assist guests of the Clothing Center when it is open, please complete our Volunteer Survey and select "Clothing Center" under the Fellowship and Service header and a member of our team will follow-up with you or you can contact the office at 607.754.6060 / office@centralumcendicott.org.
Interested in donating clothes?
Central UMC is always accepting donations for our Clothing Center. We request you bring items by the church during office hours (M-F 9:00 am - 2:00 pm) whenever possible. You can bring items to the back, ramped entrance of the church. During office hours, you can bring the items into the church building and you will see a donation drop-off window to your immediate right past the stairwell. There are also donation slips for your tax purposes.
If you are unable to bring the items during office hours, we request you please contact the church office to let us know when items will be dropped off so we can move them inside as quickly as possible.
