Church Council

Church Council is the primary leadership body at Central. Comprised of representatives from all Committees and Councils, the Church Council lifts proposals, hosts discussion and makes decisions about vision and mission. Ministries and programs/ projects including missions, fellowship, and worship, are developed and coordinated by the Council as a whole. The Council also serves as the Nominations Committee as it surfaces and suggests volunteers for the administrative areas and ministry work of the church in an ongoing process.

Allocations Committee

The Allocations committee at Central oversees a modest budget which offers grants for projects and missions in the church, community, country, and around the world. Feel free to share the application with organizations you know or submit a proposal on their behalf.

Education council / Faith Formation

We have many ways to explore your faith and to enhance and build a relationship with God and the Central UMC community. If you’re interested in learning about our current offerings or you’re interested in leading a class, please let us know!

The Finance Committee meets monthly to review the giving and spending. We are thankful for all the support of the Central Family, by the faithful giving of time, talents and financial resources, enabling Central to be the hands and feet of Christ in the World.

Music

Central is blessed to have so much musical talent among its membership and friends. In addition to Piano and Organ music, there are musicians who have provided us with special brass, woodwinds, strings, bells and singing throughout the year. We’d love to have you involved in a service, whether singing or playing an instrument. If you’d like to learn more or see how your talent might fit in, get in touch with us!

Current Chair: Jaron K. Johnson

Staff-Parish Relations Committee

United Methodist congregations give the Staff-Parish Relations Committee the responsibility for administering the relationship between staff, congregation, and the district superintendent so the mission of the church moves forward.

Trustees

The Trustees are responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of the Central UMC building, grounds, parsonage, and other assets. If you have a question or concern about the facilities of the church, they’re the people to talk to!

Current Chair: Tom Hall

Tech Ministry

It truly takes a village to bring Central’s services to those in the sanctuary, watching online, or tuning in to cable TV. There are soundboards, graphics, multiple cameras, and a host of other pieces that have to come together every time we have a service. If you’re interested in learning more about how this works or in volunteering your time to this ministry, we’d love to talk with you!

Current Chair: Mark Marino

United Methodist Men

United Methodist men is the official men’s organization of the United Methodist Church. Generally meeting the 3rd Friday of each month, UMM offers a good time for fellowship, devotion, and laughs.

United Women in Faith

Formerly “United Methodist Women,” United Women in Faith is the official women’s organization of the United Methodist Church. At Central, this group oversees three “women’s circles” (small groups) and hosts a variety of events throughout the year aimed at raising funds to support women, children and youth in need. We believe love in action can change the world.

Van Committee

We welcome local organizations to make use of our church vans! We currently have two Chevy Express vans, model years 2008 (15-seater) and 2015 (12-seater). The Van Committee is responsible for the maintenance of these vans and ensuring that anyone who does reserve the vans is properly trained before driving them.

The van makes a scheduled run to Good Shepherd Village and Hilltop on the first Sunday of each month to bring residents to the 11.00am worship and communion service.
