Shepherd Supper
Thursdays from 4:30-6pm in the Central Fellowship Hall
For over 30 years, Central UMC has been feeding the community. Each week, we offer a hot meal through Shepherd's Supper. The meal usually consists of a vegetable, soup or salad, entree, and dessert. The meal is served takeout style.
We have an active group of volunteer teams to help serve on average over 140 meals a week. Each week we also have a limited selection of grocery items available.
Interested in partaking of the meal?
The meal service starts at 4:30pm. Depending on the weather, we sometimes have guests lined up outside before the meal begins.
Everything we serve is completely nut-free. If you have special dietary requirements, such as vegetarianism, please notify one of our volunteers and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs.
Central takes Jesus's charge to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the shivering, and visit the sick and imprisoned very seriously. Know that this meal is offered in service to God and as an act of love for you and our community.
We invite all of our guests to come as they are - ALL are Welcome! There is no dress code, no requirement to be a member of Central / any other church / a Christian, and no judgement. No matter who you are, what your spiritual life looks like, how old or young you are, whom you love, your gender identity, your ethnicity, your abilities, you are welcome here. At Central UMC, we follow Jesus, who refused to label or judge and challenged the structures and systems that do.
Interested in volunteering?
The work and ministry of Central UMC wouldn't be possible without our dedicated volunteers. We welcome individuals, families, small groups, or organizations to volunteer one week each month to prepare and serve these meals.
If you are interested in volunteering your time to cook, serve, or clean-up, please complete our Volunteer Survey and select "Shepherd Supper Team" under the Fellowship and Service header and a member of our team will follow-up with you or you can contact the office at 607.754.6060 / office@centralumcendicott.org.
Interested in donating food items?
The meals offered at Shepherd Supper each week are the result of donations from groups like C.H.O.W. and monetary gifts given to Central UMC. If you have food items you'd like to contribute to these meals or would like to make a financial contribution, we encourage you to contact the church office at 607.754.6060 / office@centralumcendicott.org and discuss options for making your contribution.
